FUNERALS

Losing someone you love or care deeply about is very painful. So, adjusting to life after this loss is never easy. No two people react in the same way. A funeral is a symbolic celebration of a life and this ceremony should reflect the life and spirit of the individual.

To encapsulate all the aspects of one’s life, whatever age, is complex.  A well-prepared funeral ceremony needs to bring together many thoughts and feelings of several people and their particular interaction with the person who has passed away. With the appropriate readings, music and rituals, I can create a ceremony that reflects many thoughts and attributes. Meeting with family and friends, listening to the shared stories of achievements and memories, enables me ‘get to know’ their loved one, to shape and develop purposeful prose to evoke the best emotional and collective responses.

The single most important factor in healing from loss is having the support of other people. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the ceremony is one that gives support, comfort and hope as the grief process unfolds in its many different forms.
